Maharashtra Police Officers Honoured With Medals on Independence Day Eve

The Central Government has honoured police officers and personnel from Maharashtra for their outstanding service on the eve of Independence Day. The recognitions announced by the Maharashtra Director General of Police's office include the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, the Police Medal for Meritorious Service, and gallantry medals.

Among the key honours announced for Mumbai, Shirish Ravindra Jain, Commissioner of the State Intelligence Department, Maharashtra, has been conferred the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

Several other police personnel serving in Mumbai have been selected to receive the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. The recipients include Assistant Commissioner of Police Pravin Vinayak Tejale, Police Sub-Inspector Janardan Yashwant Desai, Police Sub-Inspector Deepak Anant Dhumne, Police Sub-Inspector Prakash Baliram Kadam, Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Ankush Babalal Nyayanganune, and Police Constable Bharat Vibhamaji Gohil.

In addition to the distinguished and meritorious service medals, a large number of police officers and personnel from Pranhita and Aheri were named in the gallantry medal list. These awards recognise their courageous service and performance of duty across challenging and sensitive areas in Maharashtra.

The honours acknowledge the long-standing dedication of police personnel tasked with maintaining law and order, conducting intelligence operations, investigating crime, and ensuring the safety of citizens across Mumbai and other regions of the state.
