Maharashtra Sanctions Rs 50 Crore for Rajmata Jijau Memorial at Sindkhed Raja

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday announced an allocation of Rs 50 crore to expedite development work on the memorial of Rajmata Jijau at Sindkhed Raja in Buldhana district.
The funding has been sanctioned under a special scheme of the state's Urban Development Department. The fresh infusion of funds is aimed at speeding up the ongoing construction of the memorial complex and the associated Jijau Srushti project.
A sum of Rs 50 crore was previously announced in 2024 for the memorial and the Jijau Srushti initiative. Following that announcement, development work commenced near Sindkhed Raja. Officials noted that Rs 27 crore has been spent on the project so far, with construction currently in progress.
Several leaders were present alongside Shinde during the announcement, including Minister Prakash Abitkar, MLAs Rohit Pawar, Sandeep Kshirsagar, and Sunil Bhusara, as well as former MLA Shashikant Khedekar.
