Maharashtra seeks public feedback on proposed 2026 housing society bye-laws

The Maharashtra Cooperation Department has initiated the public consultation stage for the proposed Model Bye-Laws, 2026 for co-operative housing societies across the state, inviting housing societies and various stakeholders to submit their recommendations and suggested changes before the framework is finalised.

As part of the consultation process, a review meeting on the draft bye-laws took place in Pune on August 13. The discussion was chaired by Deepak Taware, Commissioner of Cooperation for Maharashtra State, at the Conference Meeting Room of the Commissioner in Pune.

The meeting brought together senior officials from the state Cooperation Department alongside office-bearers and representatives from the Maharashtra State Cooperative Housing Federation. The discussions focused on reviewing the proposed provisions and preparing the draft for wider stakeholder input.

Under the consultation initiative, housing societies, residents, and related industry stakeholders have been called upon to share their views, objections, and suggested amendments. The department aims to evaluate the feedback received from the public and federation representatives before concluding and formally adopting the updated 2026 bye-laws.
