Maharashtra to Build Nandgiri State Guest House at Vile Parle Near Mumbai Airport

The Maharashtra government will construct the proposed Nandgiri State Guest House at Vile Parle near the Mumbai Airport to accommodate visiting dignitaries and transit passengers, with a focus on modern amenities, privacy, and security.

Marketing and Protocol Minister Jaykumar Rawal reviewed the proposed architectural plan during an official meeting and directed authorities to equip the facility with state-of-the-art infrastructure. He also instructed officials to arrange dedicated accommodation on the premises for drivers and security staff.

The architectural design was presented by the firm Raja Adare Architects during the review meeting chaired by Rawal. Protocol Department Secretary Dr Rajesh Gawande, Public Works Department Superintending Engineer Hande, and other department officials attended the session, where Rawal examined the specifications and offered recommendations.

According to the proposed blueprint, the guest house will feature a six-storey superstructure alongside four basement levels. The building will include a reception, a waiting lounge, and parking space designed to hold 42 vehicles. The plan outlines a total of 39 guest rooms, comprising both executive and presidential suites.

The first floor of the complex will accommodate two conference rooms, a boardroom, a main kitchen, and dining areas for both general and private use. Guest accommodations will occupy the second through sixth floors.

Rawal noted that the guest house's location near Mumbai Airport in Vile Parle will provide accessible lodging for dignitaries visiting from various states as well as travellers in transit. He stressed that privacy, high-grade security, and comfortable stay arrangements must remain top priorities throughout the execution of the project.

Additionally, the minister asked officials to incorporate a rooftop gymnasium and ensure the architectural structure allows for adequate ventilation and natural sunlight. Rawal instructed the team to finalise and submit the architectural blueprint promptly to expedite the construction process.
