Maharashtra to Fast-Track Rs 16.34 Crore District Rest House at Tuljapur

The Maharashtra government will expedite the construction of a new modern district rest house at the pilgrimage town of Tuljapur, Public Works Minister Shivendrasinh Bhosale announced on Wednesday.
Chairing a review meeting at Mantralaya in Mumbai, Bhosale instructed officials to ensure that the proposed building is constructed to high-quality standards and fitted with modern amenities. Public Works Department Secretary (Construction) Abasaheb Nagargoje and other senior department officials attended the meeting.
Tuljapur is a major pilgrimage centre in Maharashtra, drawing devotees from across the country to the Shri Tulja Bhavani temple. The planned facility aims to enhance accommodation options for visiting devotees, dignitaries, and government officials.
The proposed G+2 structure will span a total built-up area of approximately 3,366 square metres, with accommodation and essential facilities provided on each floor. The project carries an estimated cost of Rs 16.34 crore and is currently in the planning stage. The formal project estimate has been submitted to the Chief Engineer’s office for technical approval.
Bhosale directed officials to use eco-friendly materials, implement modern construction technology, and maintain strict quality control throughout execution. He specifically mandated the installation of solar energy panels and a centralised air-conditioning system across the building to support energy conservation.
“Those visiting Tuljapur for religious purposes, as well as dignitaries and government officials, should have access to modern and quality accommodation facilities. The technical procedures should be completed at the earliest and the project should be expedited,” Bhosale said.
The new rest house is intended to support the town's religious tourism infrastructure and address growing administrative requirements in the region.
