Maharashtra to Launch 100-Day Health Screening Drive for Citizens Over 30

MUMBAI — The Maharashtra government will roll out a 100-day door-to-door health screening campaign starting September 1 for all residents aged above 30 years.
The initiative, titled ‘Thirty Years Milestone: Screening and Counselling’, aims to screen citizens for diabetes, hypertension, and three major cancers, specifically breast, cervical, and oral cancer.
Health Minister Prakash Abitkar has directed department officials to execute the statewide campaign in mission mode. Under the program, deployed health teams are scheduled to visit around 40 to 45 households daily.
The visiting teams will identify high-risk and suspected cases, assist individuals with formal medical diagnosis and treatment, and track follow-ups through a dedicated digital dashboard.
In addition to the screening initiative, the state plans to secure corporate social responsibility (CSR) support to bolster tuberculosis elimination efforts. The CSR-backed measures will cover public awareness, targeted screening, early diagnosis, and connecting patients directly to medical treatment.
The state will launch a healthcare pilot project in Kolhapur before rolling out a phased expansion across the rest of Maharashtra.
