Mahayuti Finalises Formula for District Funds and Sets Corporation Allocation Timeline

The ruling Mahayuti alliance in Mumbai has finalised a formula for the distribution of district-level development funds and agreed to complete the pending allocation of various state government corporations within the next 15 days.
The decisions were taken during a meeting of the Mahayuti Coordination Committee, which reviewed internal differences among alliance partners at the local level, the distribution of District Planning Committee funds, and pending corporation appointments.
Under the newly approved formula, 70 per cent of the district-level development funds will be directly allocated to local MLAs to carry out development works in their respective constituencies. The remaining 30 per cent will be retained by the respective guardian ministers, who will distribute this portion equally among the alliance partners, BJP leader and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated after the meeting.
To address potential conflicts over fund allocation, the alliance introduced a multi-tier dispute resolution mechanism. In districts where disagreements arise among Mahayuti constituents, the issue will first be referred to the divisional commissioner for resolution. If an agreement cannot be reached at that level, the Coordination Committee will intervene. Should the dispute remain unresolved, the final decision will be made in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the two Deputy Chief Ministers.
Chief Minister Fadnavis issued strict instructions to senior leaders to ensure improved coordination among alliance partners and to resolve differences locally. Alliance MLAs and MPs have also been directed to refrain from making public criticisms against leaders or parties within the alliance.
The committee also addressed the allocation of government corporations, an issue closely monitored by party workers across the state. Leaders are scheduled to hold one or two additional meetings to finalise changes and appointments, with the final corporation allocations expected to receive formal approval within the next 15 days.
