Malvani Police Arrest Jogeshwari Constable Selling Mephedrone in Trap

A police constable posted at Jogeshwari police station was arrested by the Malvani police on Thursday for allegedly selling mephedrone, commonly known as MD or 'Meow-Meow'. The accused, identified as Kiran Indulkar, was caught red-handed attempting to sell 5 grams of the drug during a trap laid by police.

Indulkar, a resident of BDD Chawl in Naigaon, had previously been posted at the Malvani police station. During his tenure there, he allegedly came into contact with members of a drug-selling network and was suspected of possessing information about the local trade, bringing him under the scanner of the Malvani police.

Based on information received by the police, officers laid a trap and apprehended Indulkar while he was attempting to sell the 5 grams of mephedrone. Police seized the contraband from his possession before placing him under arrest.

According to police sources, complaints had been registered against Indulkar in the past. He was reportedly transferred with a warning around two years ago and had also been suspended at a point during his service.

Following his arrest, Indulkar was produced before a court, which remanded him in police custody. The Malvani police are continuing to investigate his alleged links with drug suppliers and other members of the network to ascertain the extent of his involvement and identify potential associates.
