Man Arrested for Attempted Break-In at Malad International Bank Branch

The Bangur Nagar police have arrested a man for allegedly attempting to steal from an international bank branch located in Evershine Nagar, Malad.
The accused has been identified as Pradip Mane. According to police officials, Mane allegedly broke the lock of the bank branch and damaged wires connected to both the server and the locker room during the break-in attempt.
The incident took place between 6:20 pm on August 20 and 9:00 am on August 21. The breach came to light on Friday morning when bank staff arrived for work and noticed that the lights inside the branch were switched on. Upon inspecting the premises, employees found that the door leading to the cash room had been tampered with.
Further checks revealed that the branch's closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras had either been removed or damaged. The staff also discovered that a drawer located on the ground floor and another drawer on the first floor had been pulled open. Realising that an attempted theft had taken place, the bank staff immediately notified the local police.
Following the alert, the Bangur Nagar police launched an investigation and tracked down Mane, arresting him within 24 hours of the incident.
Police inquiries revealed that while a security guard was stationed at the bank branch during daytime hours, no security personnel were deployed at the premises during the night.
A police officer stated that the accused had been living on the footpath and had previously been booked in connection with theft cases registered at multiple police stations across the city.
