Man Arrested in Kalyan for Holding Five Girls Captive and Assaulting Them

A man has been arrested in Kalyan, Maharashtra, for allegedly holding five girls captive at his residence, assaulting them, and subjecting them to abuse, police confirmed.
The incident came to light after two of the victims managed to escape from the house and reached the local police station to file a formal complaint. Acting promptly on the information provided by the two girls, police officials moved swiftly to rescue the remaining three victims from the premises and apprehend the suspect.
According to law enforcement authorities, the complaint stated that the accused had confined the five girls inside his residence, where he subjected them to physical assault and verbal abuse.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kalyan, Ashok Honmane, confirmed the development and stated that legal action was immediately initiated following the victims' report.
"Two girls lodged a complaint at the police station that a man had held them and three other girls captive in his house, assaulted them, and verbally abused them. A case has been registered, and the accused has been taken into custody," ACP Honmane said.
Following the rescue of the remaining victims and the apprehension of the accused, police registered an official case against him. Officials stated that a detailed investigation into the matter is currently underway to uncover further details surrounding the confinement and assault.
