Man Arrested in V.P. Road for Stalking Nurse and Sending Unsolicited Delivery Parcels

Police have arrested a man named Amol Navale after a 31-year-old nurse residing in the V.P. Road area of Mumbai lodged a First Information Report alleging severe stalking, harassment, verbal abuse, and intimidation.

According to details in the FIR, the woman, who lives with her parents in the V.P. Road locality, first became acquainted with Navale approximately six months ago through the social media platform Facebook. The two individuals were subsequently in a relationship for some time and regularly communicated with each other over the telephone.

The complainant alleged that Navale repeatedly harassed her by making continuous phone calls and sending various parcels directly to her family home through multiple online delivery agencies without her permission.

A specific incident highlighted in the complaint occurred on August 6, a day when the nurse's parents were unwell. On that day, Navale allegedly ordered online food items to her home address several times without seeking or obtaining her consent.

Later that night, around 10:15 pm, Navale arrived directly outside her residential building. He telephoned her to request that she come downstairs from her flat and sit inside his car parked outside.

When the woman came downstairs and confronted him, objecting to his repeated pattern of sending unsolicited parcels to her home address, Navale allegedly reacted with hostility. The complaint notes that he verbally abused her using offensive language during the interaction outside the building.

The nurse informed officers that she was thoroughly frightened by the confrontation and distressed by the persistent pattern of unwanted calls and package deliveries to her house.

Following the woman's approach to law enforcement, the police formally registered the case and arrested Amol Navale. An investigation into the allegations made by the complainant is actively underway.
