Man booked for creating ruckus and damaging property at Juhu Cooper Hospital

The Juhu police booked a 42-year-old Jogeshwari East resident on Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly created a ruckus, misbehaved with staff, and damaged public property at Cooper Hospital in Juhu. The incident occurred between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM when the accused, identified as Gaurav Valmiki, arrived at the hospital under the influence of alcohol.
According to hospital security officials, Valmiki had arrived at the medical facility to accompany his mother-in-law. She was undergoing medical treatment on the sixth floor of the hospital. Upon his arrival, Valmiki appeared heavily intoxicated and insisted on entering the women’s ward to meet his relative.
Due to his visibly intoxicated state, security personnel at Cooper Hospital initially denied Valmiki entry into the ward. This refusal led to an argument between the accused and the security guards. Following the dispute, the guards escorted him to the sixth floor but instructed him to wait outside the ward.
Despite the instructions to wait outside, Valmiki allegedly insisted on entering the women's ward. He then began misbehaving with the ward boys and housekeeping staff on duty. This confrontational behaviour led to an altercation on the sixth floor of the hospital.
In response to the growing disturbance, security personnel intervened and escorted Valmiki down to the hospital’s ground-floor security office. The hospital staff then informed the Juhu police about the situation. While waiting in the security office, Valmiki allegedly continued to argue and verbally abuse the staff members.
The situation escalated further when Valmiki allegedly banged his head against a glass partition inside the ground-floor security office. The impact shattered the glass, resulting in the damage of public property at the municipal hospital.
Following the incident, Cooper Hospital authorities lodged an official complaint with the Juhu police. Based on the complaint, the police registered an offence against Valmiki for creating a ruckus and damaging public property. The Juhu police have initiated a further investigation into the matter.
