Manoj Jarange Accuses Maharashtra Govt of Trying to Cut 58 Lakh Kunbi Records

CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR — Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange on Monday alleged that the Maharashtra government is attempting to reduce the number of Kunbi caste certificates issued to eligible members of the Maratha community.

Speaking in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jarange demanded that Kunbi caste certificates must be issued strictly based on the 58 lakh records identified during earlier government exercises. He voiced strong opposition to any moves aimed at curtailing the issuance of these certificates.

Jarange called upon members of the Maratha community to step up their efforts for their reservation demands and to raise their voices against what he termed as injustice. He further appealed to community members not to succumb to pressure from any political party or individual.

The activist has also announced an indefinite fast beginning August 29 to press for Other Backward Classes (OBC) quota benefits for eligible members of the Maratha community across Maharashtra.
