Manoj Jarange Patil Seeks Mumbai Police Nod for Azad Maidan Protest from August 29

Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil has sought permission from the Mumbai Police to hold a protest and hunger strike at Azad Maidan from August 29 over the community's long-pending demands.
A formal application seeking official clearance for the gathering was submitted by Jarange Patil's authorised representative. The letter was addressed directly to the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the senior police inspector of the Azad Maidan police station.
According to the communication, a peaceful public meeting, agitation, hunger strike, and protest are planned to be organised at Azad Maidan under Jarange Patil's leadership.
The activist's representative stated that the agitation is aimed at pressing the authorities regarding the long-pending demands of the Maratha community. The representative maintained that the planned demonstrations and meetings at the venue would remain entirely peaceful.
