Maya Tata Reportedly Set to Head Westside's Digital and Overseas E-Commerce

Maya Tata, a Mumbai-born executive and daughter of Noel Tata, is reportedly set to take on a key role at Westside to oversee its online business and overseas e-commerce marketing. The 37-year-old's reported appointment comes as the fashion retail brand, which is the largest fashion brand of Trent Limited, focuses on digital expansion and international markets.

The reported transition comes ahead of Noel Tata's expected retirement in November this year. Noel Tata currently serves as the Chairman of Trent Limited and Tata Trusts. While reports of Maya Tata's new role have circulated, Trent Limited has not yet officially confirmed the appointment.

Maya Tata, who is also the niece of Ratan Tata, was born in Mumbai in 1989. She studied at the University of Warwick in the UK and later completed her studies in business management and finance in London. She began her career within the Tata Group under the guidance of Ratan Tata, working at Tata Capital's Tata Opportunities Fund before moving to Tata Digital.

Her siblings are also involved in the Tata Group's operations. Her brother, Neville Tata, manages Trent's Star Bazaar business, while her elder sister is involved in the group's hotel business.

Westside represents a significant portion of Trent Limited's overall operations, contributing nearly 40 percent of the company's total revenue. The brand is on a rapid expansion path, aiming to open around 50 new stores every year. In FY2026 alone, Westside opened 53 new stores.

The brand recently marked its entry into the global market by opening its first international store in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with further plans to expand into other overseas markets. By the end of FY2026, Trent Limited, which also owns Zudio and Star Bazaar, recorded a revenue of around Rs 19,700 crore and maintained a retail network of 1,286 stores across 321 Indian cities.
