Mayor Ritu Tawde Flags Off 4-km Red Run 2026 in Mumbai for HIV Awareness

Mumbai Mayor Ritu Rajesh Tawde flagged off the 4-km ‘Red Run 2026’ marathon in Mumbai on Sunday, October 4, 2026, to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS among youth. More than 500 college students participated in the event aimed at promoting healthy living and public health consciousness.
The awareness run commenced at 7:00 AM on Sunday. It was organised by the Mumbai Districts AIDS Control Society (MDACS) under its ‘Run To End AIDS’ initiative.
Addressing the participating students and citizens at the event, Mayor Tawde emphasised the significance of youth engagement in public health. She said that promoting healthy lifestyles and greater health awareness among young people was essential to building a healthier society.
The 4-km event mobilised over 500 college students across the city as part of broader efforts to boost knowledge and awareness concerning HIV and AIDS among young people in Mumbai.
The initiative concluded after the participating students completed the run, marking MDACS's outreach effort to connect with Mumbai's youth through sports and health initiatives.
