Mayor Ritu Tawde Inspects BMC Trauma Care Hospital in Jogeshwari East

Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde conducted a surprise inspection of the Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Care Municipal Hospital in Jogeshwari East on Wednesday, reviewing medical facilities and patient care services across multiple departments.

During her visit, the Mayor evaluated the infrastructure and flagged the immediate need for improved facilities for patients visiting the civic-run hospital.

Tawde first visited the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY) registration counter situated on the ground floor. Noting that the counter previously operated only between 8 am and 4 pm, she instructed hospital authorities to keep the MJPJAY registration counter functional round the clock to ensure uninterrupted assistance for patients seeking scheme benefits.

Following the check on the ground floor, the Mayor proceeded to inspect the hospital's Accident Department and the Intensive Care Unit.

She subsequently visited the specialised treatment wards located on the upper levels of the facility, carrying out inspections across the paediatric department as well as the female medical and male medical departments on the ninth and tenth floors.

During the visit, Mayor Tawde issued a series of administrative directives to the hospital management aimed at streamlining services and enhancing overall patient facilities at the Jogeshwari East trauma care centre.
