Mazgaon Footpath Cleared After Housing Society Fixes Obstructing Gate

Pedestrians on Nesbit Road in Mazgaon can now walk freely after a long-standing obstruction caused by a housing society gate was resolved.
For months, the gate of the housing society had blocked the entire walkway whenever it was opened. The obstruction forced pedestrians to step off the pavement and walk directly onto the busy carriageway.
Local residents had raised serious concerns about the safety hazard, particularly because a play school operates near the housing society. Due to the blocked footpath, young children were repeatedly forced onto the road to reach their school transport and vehicles.
Safety risks were further heightened by the location of the obstruction. The spot sits close to a busy junction frequently used by trucks and other heavy vehicles moving toward Byculla.
The housing society has now fixed the gate, clearing the pavement and restoring unobstructed access for pedestrians along the stretch.
