MCA Congratulates Sarfaraz Khan After Recall to India Test Squad for Sri Lanka Series

The Mumbai Cricket Association congratulated batter Sarfaraz Khan in Mumbai on August 12 after he earned a recall to India's Test squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. Sarfaraz has been named as the replacement for injured batter Sai Sudharsan ahead of the opening Test match in Galle, which begins on August 15.

The MCA expressed its support for the Mumbai batter through a statement shared on social media, wishing him success on his return to the national side. "Mumbai's Sarfaraz Khan earns an India recall. He joins India's Test squad for the Tour of Sri Lanka, replacing the injured Sai Sudharsan – ahead of the first Test in Galle, beginning 15th August. We wish him the very best," the MCA stated in its post.

Sarfaraz's selection provides a boost for Mumbai cricket and offers the batter another chance to secure a regular place in India's Test middle order. The cricketer has previously featured in six Test matches for the national team before receiving this latest call-up.

For the MCA, Sarfaraz's inclusion in the national squad represents another moment of pride for Mumbai cricket, which has a long tradition of producing leading Test batters for India. Sarfaraz joins the squad as India prepares for the start of the two-match series in Galle.

The complete India squad for the tour includes Shubman Gill as captain and KL Rahul as vice-captain, alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, wicket-keepers Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Manav Suthar, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Gurnoor Brar, Devdutt Padikkal, Saransh Jain, Auqib Nabi, and Sarfaraz Khan.
