Mega blocks scheduled on Thane Trans-Harbour and Central lines on Sunday

Central Railway announced a mega block on the Trans-Harbour Line between Thane and Vashi/Nerul, and on the Central Line between Matunga and Mulund, scheduled for Sunday, June 28. The blocks are being implemented to carry out essential maintenance and infrastructure work, which is expected to cause disruptions and delays for suburban commuters.

On the Trans-Harbour Line, the mega block will affect the Up and Down Harbour tracks between Thane and Vashi or Nerul stations. This maintenance window is scheduled to run from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm on Sunday. Commuters travelling to and from Thane, Vashi, Nerul, and nearby stations are advised to plan their trips in advance as train services will be affected and additional travel time may be required.

Simultaneously, a mega block on the Central Line will be carried out on the Up and Down slow tracks between Matunga and Mulund stations. This block is scheduled to take place from 11:05 am to 3:55 pm on Sunday. Local trains operating on these affected slow lines may experience delays, diversions, or temporary regulation during the maintenance period.

Central Railway confirmed that no maintenance blocks have been scheduled on either the Harbour Line or the Uran Line. Train services on both of these routes will continue to operate as per their regular timetables.

Meanwhile, Western Railway announced that there will be no daytime Jumbo Block on its suburban network on Sunday, June 28. However, an overnight jumbo block has been scheduled on the Up and Down fast lines between Borivali and Bhayandar stations.

This overnight Western Railway block will begin at 11:30 pm on Saturday, June 27, and will continue until 4:30 am on Sunday, June 28. The block is necessary to facilitate the essential maintenance of tracks, signalling infrastructure, and overhead electrical equipment. During this period, fast local trains running between Virar or Vasai Road and Borivali will be diverted to the slow lines.
