Minor Landslide Hits Ghodbunder Road Near Bhayandarpada in Thane

A minor landslide occurred along Ghodbunder Road near the Lodha Splendora residential complex in the Bhayandarpada area of Thane (West) on Monday evening, August 17. No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.

Emergency control officials received information regarding the landslide at approximately 8:40 PM, following which multiple emergency response teams were dispatched to the location.

The response operation included the Regional Disaster Management Officer, Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) personnel equipped with a utility vehicle, and Fire Brigade personnel with a rescue vehicle. An assistant engineer from the Public Works Department (PWD) and staff from the Thane Municipal Corporation's Electrical Department were also present at the site to assist in managing the situation.

Emergency crews deployed an earth excavator (JCB) to remove accumulated soil and boulders from the carriageway, successfully clearing the road and restoring normal traffic flow.

As an additional safety precaution, emergency responders cordoned off the affected spot with danger tape to mitigate any further risks to commuters traveling along the stretch.
