MNS Workers Assault Kalyan Deputy Station Master Over Harassment Allegations

MNS Workers Assault Kalyan Deputy Station Master Over Harassment Allegations

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers allegedly assaulted a deputy station master at Kalyan railway station on Monday after a junior woman staffer accused him of persistent harassment and sending obscene messages. The Government Railway Police (GRP) in Kalyan subsequently took the railway official into custody and initiated a probe.

According to the complaint filed by the woman, the deputy station master had been harassing her for nearly six months. She alleged that the official repeatedly sent her obscene messages over WhatsApp and pressured her to visit him at his residence.

The woman initially chose to ignore the communications, but the unsolicited messages and inappropriate behavior allegedly continued unabated. Seeking intervention, she formally reported the matter to the station master on at least two separate occasions.

Following her complaints, the station master reportedly reprimanded the deputy station master in the presence of the complainant. However, the official warning failed to deter the accused, and the alleged harassment persisted despite the confrontation.

Frustrated by the lack of resolution and the continuing conduct, the woman eventually reached out to MNS functionaries for assistance. Party workers then intervened directly in the workplace dispute.

On Monday, MNS workers accompanied the complainant to the deputy station master's office at Kalyan station. They confronted the official with the WhatsApp messages sent to the junior employee before allegedly assaulting him inside the premises.

Following the incident, Kalyan GRP personnel intervened and took the deputy station master into custody. Police have registered a case against the official based on the woman's formal complaint and have launched a comprehensive investigation into the allegations.
