KALYAN — The mother of a doctor who was allegedly assaulted by a local political leader has demanded stronger protection and safety measures for medical professionals. Sangeeta Baviskar, the mother of victim Dr. Srishti Baviskar, spoke to reporters in Kalyan to address the physical confrontation. She became visibly emotional while condemning Monday’s incident, which took place at the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC)-run healthcare facility.
According to reports, Dr. Srishti Baviskar and another doctor were allegedly assaulted by Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre at the Shastri Nagar Hospital. The incident has raised serious concerns regarding the safety of medical staff working in civic-run hospitals across the Thane region.
