MP Shrikant Shinde Inspects Dombivli Projects, Warns Against Substandard Work

Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Dr Shrikant Shinde on Sunday inspected multiple ongoing infrastructure and civic development projects across Dombivli, warning contractors that substandard work would not be tolerated.

During his inspection, Shinde reviewed the progress of key public facilities, including the Savitribai Phule Natyagruha, the Sant Sawalaram Maharaj Sports Complex, the Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari Auditorium in Dombivli West, and an upcoming cancer and multi-speciality hospital.

Shinde directed officials to accelerate construction on the cancer hospital, setting a target to make the facility operational by December 2027. He noted that efforts are also underway to expedite the redevelopment of the 500-bed Shastrinagar Hospital and Rukminibai Hospital, alongside plans to establish a medical college for the Kalyan-Dombivli region.

At the Savitribai Phule Natyagruha, Shinde inspected the stage, seating arrangements, and other amenities. The administration is aiming to finish the auditorium work by October or early November. He instructed officials to draft a detailed plan within 10 days for an art gallery at the venue.

Expressing displeasure over the quality of certain works at the auditorium, Shinde told contractors that government projects must be constructed to high benchmarks, directing them to use premium materials ranging from marble to structural components.

While reviewing the Sant Sawalaram Maharaj Sports Complex, Shinde stated that the facility is slated to be among the largest sports complexes in the country and is targeted for completion by 2027. He instructed civic officials to closely monitor work quality and ensure contractors adhere strictly to standards.
