MPSC transitions prelims to computer-based tests to release results in 21 days

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) announced in Mumbai on Friday, June 26, 2026, that all of its forthcoming preliminary examinations will be conducted via Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The announcement represents a significant shift in how the state commission administers its initial screening tests.
While addressing a press conference on Friday, MPSC Chairman Vivek Bhimanwar stated that the major overhaul is designed to make the state's examination system faster and more efficient. According to reports from PTI, the transition to a digital format specifically targets a reduction in recruitment delays, which has been a key area of focus for the commission.
A major goal of this shift to the computer-based system is to accelerate the announcement of exam outcomes. Chairman Bhimanwar explained that the commission is targeting a timeline of 21 days to release the results of the preliminary examinations once the computer-based tests are implemented.
The commission clarified that the new computer-based testing mode will not apply to all stages of the selection process. Instead, the CBT format is scheduled to be used exclusively for the preliminary examinations.
According to the commission's leadership, the update to the testing process is intended to bring greater efficiency to the system. By streamlining the initial testing phase, the MPSC aims to ensure a quicker pathway for candidates through the preliminary stages of recruitment, addressing long-standing concerns over delays.
