MRVC Steps Up Work on New EMU Maintenance Facilities at Bhivpuri and Vangaon

The Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd (MRVC) is progressing with the development and augmentation of electric multiple unit (EMU) maintenance facilities across the Mumbai suburban rail network, including new car sheds at Bhivpuri and Vangaon.
The project is being executed under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project-IIIA (MUTP-IIIA). According to an official statement, the initiative is designed to strengthen the maintenance infrastructure required for the future expansion of Mumbai’s suburban railway network.
The programme encompasses the construction of brand-new EMU car sheds at Bhivpuri and Vangaon. Alongside building these new facilities, the plan includes the augmentation of existing maintenance facilities across the network.
The enhanced infrastructure is aimed directly at supporting the region's growing suburban rolling stock fleet as transit demands and network operations expand.
