MSEDCL Honours Khalapur Lineman Amol Kadam for Duty During Rains Amid Cancer Battle

An assistant lineman with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has been felicitated in Raigad district for his extraordinary dedication to duty after working through heavy rainfall while undergoing treatment for cancer. Amol Kadam, who is posted under the Khalapur sub-division in Raigad, remained stationed at his substation for four consecutive days during heavy rains last month to help maintain an uninterrupted power supply for local residents.

Taking note of his service, Dilip Jagdale, the Deputy Managing Director of MSEDCL’s Konkan regional operations, visited the Khalapur sub-division to personally felicitate Kadam. Jagdale commended Kadam for his commitment and offered encouragement for his exemplary service to the public and the power utility.

During last month’s severe weather, Kadam faced torrential rain and extremely challenging working conditions at the substation. Despite these adverse circumstances, he continued to attend to his responsibilities and worked tirelessly to restore and maintain the electricity supply throughout the area.

What made Kadam's dedication particularly notable to MSEDCL officials was that he has been courageously battling cancer. Despite dealing with a serious medical illness, Kadam continued to discharge his official duties with deep commitment and a strong sense of responsibility, earning widespread appreciation across the MSEDCL workforce.

During his visit to the Khalapur sub-division, Jagdale highlighted the importance of Kadam's efforts. Jagdale stated that customer service for MSEDCL employees is not merely a responsibility, but a commitment rooted in a sense of duty and service. He noted that the determination, dedication, and commitment displayed by Kadam while overcoming his own personal difficulties during the heavy rains serves as an inspiration to the entire MSEDCL family.

Jagdale added that honouring employees who demonstrate such dedication is the company’s responsibility, emphasizing that he was personally proud of Kadam’s spirit of service. MSEDCL officials further described Kadam’s efforts during extreme weather as a prime example of the vital role played by field staff in keeping essential electricity services operational during emergencies.
