MSEDCL Resolves 743 Consumer Complaints in Panvel Division Camps

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) addressed 743 consumer complaints during a three-day grievance redressal drive held across Kharghar, Panvel, Taloja, and Uran subdivisions between August 17 and August 19.

A total of 16 customer grievance redressal camps were set up across the Panvel City Division to handle electricity-related grievances and share details about MSEDCL schemes and services with local residents.

The initiative saw participation across four subdivisions, with Taloja recording the highest turnout. In Taloja, eight camps were organised, drawing 360 consumers whose 360 complaints were resolved. In Panvel, three camps were held with 158 consumers participating and having all 158 issues addressed. Kharghar hosted two camps where 156 consumers attended and 156 complaints were settled, while three camps in Uran resolved all 69 complaints brought by 69 consumers.

According to MSEDCL, the majority of the grievances raised by consumers pertained to electricity bills. Following reviews by officials, only two out of the 743 bills examined required corrections, while the remaining bills were verified as accurate. Officials provided detailed explanations regarding the various charges and fees listed on the bills, after which the consumers expressed satisfaction.

In another instance, a consumer requested verification of an electricity meter. MSEDCL officials inspected the meter in the consumer's presence, and the consumer expressed satisfaction with the accuracy of the device.

The camps were designed to give consumers a direct platform to raise complaints for speedy resolution at the local level, while also building awareness about MSEDCL's services, facilities, and schemes.

“Providing quality, prompt and transparent services to MSEDCL consumers is our primary objective. Through these customer grievance camps, consumers get an opportunity to directly raise their complaints and obtain information about various schemes and facilities. Consumers should make maximum use of such camps and get their grievances resolved promptly,” said Sanjay Patil, Chief Engineer of Bhandup Circle.

The grievance camps were conducted on the directions of Sanjay Patil and under the guidance of Deepak Patil, Superintendent Engineer of Vashi Circle.
