MSRTC Adds 200 Daily Buses on Mumbai-Pune Route to Assist Train Passengers

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) announced on July 10, 2026, that it will operate 200 additional daily ordinary bus trips on the Mumbai-Pune route to assist passengers. The special transport services, which are scheduled to begin on Saturday, July 11, 2026, aim to provide relief to commuters affected by the cancellation of approximately 30 trains on this route.

The decision to introduce these extra services is expected to provide much-needed alternative transport options for passengers traveling between the two cities. The cancellation of about 30 trains had threatened to disrupt travel plans for numerous commuters, making the availability of additional road transport options a high priority.

Under the newly announced special transport plan, the MSRTC will run 200 extra ordinary bus trips every day. These services will be operated in addition to the existing 312 scheduled E-Shivneri services that are already running on the Mumbai-Pune route. By adding these ordinary bus trips, the corporation is significantly expanding its daily operations to accommodate the sudden influx of displaced rail passengers.

The MSRTC's initiative is designed to offer a reliable and steady alternative mode of transport during the ongoing rail disruptions. The additional daily trips are aimed at ensuring that passengers commuting between Mumbai and Pune have access to sufficient travel options and can complete their journeys with minimal inconvenience.

The special bus services will officially commence operations on Saturday, July 11, 2026, providing a direct response to the transport challenges created by the train cancellations on the Mumbai-Pune line.
