Mukesh Khanna Launches Shaniwar Bhoj in Kandivali to Feed Up to 150 People Weekly

Actor Mukesh Khanna, widely known for his role as Shaktimaan, has launched a weekly langar initiative in Mumbai's Kandivali neighbourhood to provide free meals to underprivileged individuals.

The programme, titled 'Shaniwar Bhoj', has been organized through the Mukesh Khanna Foundation. Under this project, organizers plan to feed between 100 and 150 people every Saturday over the next year.

Khanna stated that while the initiative currently runs once a week, there are plans to potentially expand food distribution to other days, including Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Speaking about the launch, Khanna highlighted that feeding those in need is deeply rooted in Indian culture, history, and religion. He noted that although some people already run similar efforts, more individuals need to participate to tackle food insecurity effectively.

Khanna expressed hope that the effort would encourage others in the community to step forward, stating that if even a few more people begin feeding those in need, significant progress can be made toward addressing the country's hunger problem.
