Mumbai Biker Riddhi Thakkar Dies in NH-30 Road Crash in Chhattisgarh

Riddhi Thakkar, a 24-year-old biker and makeup artist from Mumbai, died on Wednesday morning after her motorcycle was hit by an unidentified heavy vehicle on National Highway 30 in Chhattisgarh's Balod district. The collision occurred at around 6 am near Markatola Ghat under Purur police station limits while Thakkar was travelling towards the Bastar region with a group of motorbikers.

Thakkar had initiated her journey with a solo ride on her motorcycle from Mumbai to Chhattisgarh. After reaching Raipur, she joined a group of approximately 20 motorbikers hailing from Maharashtra and other states to ride towards Bastar.

According to police, a fellow rider stated that she, Thakkar, and another biker were travelling behind the main group when the unidentified heavy vehicle struck Thakkar's motorcycle. The vehicle fled the scene immediately after the impact, which left Thakkar with severe injuries, particularly in her legs.

Her fellow riders contacted the emergency helpline Dial 112, after which an emergency response vehicle transported Thakkar to the Charama Community Health Centre in the neighbouring Kanker district. Owing to the critical nature of her injuries, she was later referred to a private hospital in Dhamtari, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Local police have launched an investigation into the crash to identify the heavy vehicle and locate its driver. Investigators are expected to review CCTV footage along the road stretches around the collision site to gather clues.

Thakkar was known online for documenting her motorcycling experiences under the channel name @Ridewithridz, where she published solo ride vlogs, gear guides, motorcycle reviews, and riding tips. Through her content, she aimed to challenge stereotypes surrounding women riders and encourage others to take up motorcycling. Just days before the incident, she had shared updates on social media about her solo trip from Mumbai to Chhattisgarh.
