Mumbai BJP Minority Morcha Organizes Yoga Session at Minara Masjid

The Mumbai BJP Minority Morcha organized a yoga session at the Minara Masjid in Mumbai on Saturday, as part of nationwide outreach activities ahead of the International Day of Yoga.
The event was held at the prominent religious landmark a day before the official annual observance of International Yoga Day on June 21. Participants gathered at the mosque venue to take part in the yoga session, which was designed to promote the practice of yoga and demonstrate community outreach by the political party's minority wing.
This local program was one of numerous yoga-related events organized across India in the run-up to the international celebration. The sessions are aimed at promoting the practice and its health benefits among people from different sections of society.
In addition to the session at Minara Masjid, other major preparatory events took place across the country. Earlier in the day, a massive "24-Hour Countdown Event" was organized at the Parade Grounds in Hyderabad under the leadership of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy. That event drew participation from yoga organizations, students, public representatives, actors, and international delegates.
Speaking at the Hyderabad event, Reddy stated that such programs are part of India's continued efforts to promote yoga globally since the annual observance was initiated. Several prominent personalities who attended the countdown event also highlighted the benefits of yoga and encouraged people to adopt it as a regular practice.
International Yoga Day is observed annually on June 21, following a resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2014. The proposal for the day was originally initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the United Nations, the year 2026 marks the 12th year of the global observance. The theme designated for this year's programs is "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," which highlights how the practice can help individuals remain active, independent, and engaged across different age groups.
