Mumbai Chess Educator Praful Zaveri Appointed St Kitts and Nevis Coach for Olympiad

Mumbai-based FIDE trainer and chess educator Praful Zaveri has been appointed as the coach and team captain of the St Kitts and Nevis Chess Federation team for the upcoming 46th Chess Olympiad.

The prestigious international tournament is scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan from September 15 to September 28, 2026. Zaveri has been tasked with guiding the Caribbean nation’s national squad at the premier global team event.

The appointment came following a recommendation from International Master (IM) Abhishek Kelkar, who had previously worked alongside the St Kitts and Nevis delegation during the 2022 Chess Olympiad held in Chennai.

Impressed by Zaveri's extensive educational background, training methods, and chess curriculum, the Caribbean federation placed its faith in the Mumbai instructor. Zaveri is a recognized FIDE trainer who has authored numerous books on chess.

At the tournament in Uzbekistan, Zaveri will take charge of team preparations and match strategy as St Kitts and Nevis competes against national teams from across the globe.
