Mumbai Crime Branch Arrests Two Men For Milk Adulteration In Goregaon West

The Mumbai Crime Branch arrested two men on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, for allegedly adulterating branded milk packets with contaminated water and resealing them for sale in Goregaon West. The operation, which was carried out by Unit 11 of the Crime Branch alongside officials from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), resulted in the seizure and destruction of 558 litres of adulterated milk.
The raid was conducted in the Prem Nagar locality of Goregaon West. Officers targeted two rooms in the Ankur Building, situated near the Siddhivinayak Seva Mandal on Link Road. Acting on a specific tip-off, the joint team of law enforcement officers and FDA officials moved in on the location to halt the illegal packaging operation.
According to authorities, the suspects targeted sealed packets of prominent milk brands, specifically Amul and Gokul. The accused allegedly opened the sealed packets, mixed contaminated water into the milk, and then resealed them to look tamper-free. These adulterated packets were intended for supply to unsuspecting consumers in the Goregaon West area.
During the raid at the Ankur Building rooms, officers uncovered the illicit setup and seized a total of 558 litres of the adulterated milk. To ensure that the contaminated milk did not reach local households, the authorities destroyed the entire seized stock on-site.
The two accused individuals were placed under arrest by the police following the successful raid. The joint action by the Mumbai Crime Branch Unit 11 and the FDA successfully disrupted the supply of contaminated milk to consumers, preventing further distribution of the adulterated Amul and Gokul products.
