Mumbai Lake Levels Reach 91.52% as Vihar, Tulsi and Modak Sagar Hit Full Capacity

Water levels across the seven lakes supplying drinking water to Mumbai reached 91.52 per cent of their total live storage capacity as of 6 am on Saturday, August 15, according to data from the Hydraulic Engineer's Department at the Bhandup Master Control Centre.

The city's reservoirs collectively held 13,24,585 million litres of water. Among the key supply reservoirs, Vihar, Tulsi, and Modak Sagar reached full capacity.

The current water stock stands higher than the volume recorded during the corresponding period last year, when the reservoirs held 12,95,728 million litres, or 89.52 per cent of their capacity.

However, the overall reserve remained lower than the levels documented in 2024. During that period, the lakes held 13,48,606 million litres of water, accounting for 93.18 per cent of the total live storage capacity.
