Mumbai Marks 100 Years of BEST Motorised Buses With Kala Ghoda Exhibition

Mumbai marked 100 years of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) motorised bus service with a public exhibition at the David Sassoon Library and Reading Room in Kala Ghoda on Saturday.

The event, organised under the title 'BEST Motorised Buses @ 100 – A Journey Through Time on Mumbai’s Iconic Buses,' brought together historical items spanning a century of the city's public transport history. Displays at the exhibition included rare bus tickets, old photographs, bus models, and various transport memorabilia.

During the programme at the Kala Ghoda venue, a new book titled 'Centenary of Motorised Bus Service,' authored by Swamynathan R, was officially launched to document the hundred-year journey of the motorised bus service in the city.
