Mumbai Police Boost Security at Aamir Khan Bandra Home After Bishnoi Gang Threat

The Mumbai Police have increased security outside actor Aamir Khan's residence in Pali Hill, Bandra West, and launched an investigation after a viral voice note and social media post, purportedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, threatened the actor. The threat, which circulated on Saturday, accused Khan of promoting what the speaker described as "Love Jihad" following his marriage to Gauri Spratt on July 5.

The threat clip began circulating widely online on Saturday, prompting immediate precautionary measures by the police, even though the 61-year-old actor is currently out of the country.

Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti stated that authorities are examining the veracity of the social media post and the voice clip. Police officials noted they have not yet established the origin or authenticity of either the recording or the post.

In the audio recording, a speaker identifying himself as Arzoo Bishnoi, who claims association with Lawrence Bishnoi, addressed the audience and alleged that Khan was promoting "Love Jihad" through his marriages to Hindu women. The speaker issued a direct threat, warning that they would soon be choked to death and claiming the gang would stage an attack that would make Khan and his associates think twice.

A senior police officer revealed that the voice clip appears to have reached India through the encrypted messaging platform Signal before being shared among journalists and on social media.

Currently, investigators are looking into whether Khan or his representatives received the threat directly or indirectly. No formal complaint has been filed by the actor or his team. Cyber and digital forensic teams are working to trace the origin of the recording to determine if it is genuine.

A senior officer confirmed that police personnel have been deployed outside Khan's Pali Hill residence as a precautionary measure. Further decisions regarding additional security will be made following the outcome of the verification and threat assessment.

This incident follows a series of threats linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang targeting prominent Hindi film industry figures. The gang has previously targeted actor Salman Khan, and earlier this year, shots were fired at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s building in Juhu.
