Mumbai Police Bust Milk Adulteration Racket in Kandivali East, Seize 74 Litres

The Samta Nagar Police have busted a milk adulteration racket operating out of a residence in Kandivali East, arresting a 48-year-old man and seizing 74 litres of adulterated milk bearing Amul and Gokul labels.

The operation was carried out by the Detection Squad of the Samta Nagar Police Station, who raided the residential premises in Kandivali East. Police officials caught the 48-year-old suspect red-handed while he was in the process of adulterating branded milk by mixing it with impure water for commercial sale.

During the raid, the police team confiscated 74 litres of adulterated milk packaged in pouches with Amul and Gokul branding. In addition to the milk, officials seized various materials used in the adulteration process as well as a supply of counterfeit empty pouches.

Following the raid and seizure, the suspect was taken into custody. Police have registered a case against the accused under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) alongside relevant sections of the Food Safety and Standards Act.

The Mumbai Police reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against individuals and networks whose illicit activities compromise food safety and endanger public health.
