Mumbai Police Constable's Bullet Motorcycle Stolen Outside Kalyan Tehsildar Office

A Bullet motorcycle belonging to a Mumbai Police constable was stolen in broad daylight from outside the Kalyan tehsildar’s office on August 22, 2026. The incident occurred in front of the government facility, prompting questions regarding security arrangements in the vicinity.
The complainant, Ashish Nighot, is a resident of Kongaon and currently serves with the Mumbai Police. According to his formal complaint, Nighot had travelled to Kalyan for work-related matters and parked his Bullet motorcycle outside the local tehsildar’s office before heading onward to Mumbai.
Upon finishing his work, Nighot returned to the parking spot outside the office premises and discovered that his two-wheeler was missing. After searching the immediate area without success, he approached the Mahatma Phule Police Station to report the incident and lodged an official theft complaint.
Following the complaint, investigating officers reviewed CCTV footage captured by surveillance cameras installed in and around the surrounding area. The recordings showed two suspicious individuals connected to the theft.
According to the CCTV footage examined by the police, one of the suspects arrived riding a separate motorcycle, while the second suspect was seen riding away on Nighot’s stolen Bullet.
The Mahatma Phule police have registered a case of vehicle theft and initiated an investigation into the matter. Dedicated police teams are currently analysing the CCTV recordings along with other available technical evidence to identify both suspects and trace the whereabouts of the stolen motorcycle.
The daylight theft in front of a busy administrative building has raised concerns among locals regarding the safety and security of vehicles parked near government offices in Kalyan. Police officials stated that efforts are underway to establish the identities of the culprits and recover the stolen vehicle.
