Mumbai Police Deploy Over 10,000 Personnel for Eid-e-Milad Processions

Mumbai Police have put elaborate security arrangements in place across Mumbai to maintain law and order during Eid-e-Milad on August 26, when a large number of processions are expected to be taken out across the city.

The extensive security plan has been formulated under the guidance of the Mumbai Police Commissioner and is being executed under the supervision of the Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order).

To ensure that citizens are able to celebrate the occasion peacefully and safely, the police department has deployed more than 10,000 personnel across various locations in the city. The deployment includes at least eight Additional Commissioners of Police, 29 Deputy Commissioners of Police, and 56 Assistant Commissioners of Police.

In addition to the senior supervisory officers, the force on the ground comprises 1,618 police officers and 8,325 police personnel assigned to active security duty across different sectors.

Beyond regular police strength, specialised reserve and emergency units have been stationed at critical spots. State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) platoons, Quick Response Teams (QRTs), Riot Control Units, Delta teams, and Combat teams have been mobilised to monitor and secure important and sensitive locations throughout the city.

Mumbai Police have urged the public to cooperate with on-duty personnel and exercise patience, particularly in crowded areas along the procession routes. Authorities have also advised citizens to stay vigilant and immediately contact the police control room via helplines 100 or 112 if they notice any suspicious activity or unattended objects.
