Mumbai Police Intensifies Citywide Security and Patrolling Ahead of Independence Day

Mumbai Police has intensified security measures across the city ahead of Independence Day celebrations, stepping up nakabandis, patrolling, and combing operations, with checks conducted at major transit hubs including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.

Police personnel, accompanied by dog squads, carried out specialized inspection drives at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus as part of the heightened vigilance protocol. The enhanced security measures are aimed at keeping a strict watch on suspicious persons, vehicles, and activities across Mumbai neighbourhoods.

According to police officials, the heightened security drive is not confined solely to primary celebration grounds or major transit points. Police teams are actively monitoring isolated spots, roadside parking zones, commercial markets, hotels, and lodges across the city to ensure that no suspicious movements or activities go unnoticed.

A central focus of the precautionary exercise involves the surveillance and inspection of parked vehicles and secluded locations. Routine nakabandis and ground-level combing operations have been systematically increased across various localities as part of the comprehensive security arrangements leading up to and during the Independence Day celebrations.

Law enforcement teams remain deployed across key zones to maintain continuous surveillance and handle security checks throughout the city.
