Mumbai Police Introduce Odd-Even Parking on Bandra's St Andrew's Road

Mumbai traffic police have issued a notification introducing an odd-even parking system on St Andrew's Road Extension in Bandra (West) to manage vehicular congestion and ease movement for residents.

The new parking regulations apply specifically to the stretch between Salsette Catholic Co-op. Hsg. Soc. and Learners Academy, I.C.S.E. School. Under the rules, parking is permitted according to the Gregorian calendar, allowing vehicles to park on the eastern side of the road on even dates and on the western side on odd dates.

The decision comes after authorities received complaints regarding inconvenience faced by local residents along the road. In response, the Bandra Traffic Division conducted an assessment and submitted a report on the existing parking arrangements in the area, leading to the regulatory changes.

DCP (Headquarters and Central Division) Dipali Dhate stated that the temporary traffic system is designed to prevent danger, obstruction, and inconvenience to the general public.

According to the notification, the odd-even parking rule took effect at 12 am on Saturday, August 15, and will remain in place temporarily for six months until 12.01 am on February 15, 2027.

All types of commercial vehicles and heavy vehicles have been completely excluded from parking along this designated stretch under the new order.
