Mumbai Police Rescue 65-Year-Old Woman From Fifth-Floor Ledge in Vikhroli

A 65-year-old woman was safely rescued by police personnel after she allegedly attempted to jump from the fifth floor of a building in Vikhroli, the Mumbai Police said on Sunday.

The incident came to light when Assistant Sub-Inspector Pansare, attached to the Powai Police Station, spotted the senior citizen during his morning walk. The woman was seen allegedly preparing to jump from the fifth floor of a building located within the jurisdiction of the Vikhroli Police Station.

Taking immediate action, Pansare contacted the Mumbai Police Control Room to report the situation and seek urgent deployment. A police team was quickly dispatched to the spot to prevent the woman from taking the extreme step.

The rescue operation was carried out through the coordinated efforts of Police Inspector Gadade, police personnel Sudham Binnar, and Maharashtra Security Force (MSF) jawan Rathod. Their swift and timely intervention at the site enabled the team to reach the woman in time and bring her to safety.

Following the successful rescue operation, the woman was provided with counselling and guidance by the police team.

In light of the incident, the Mumbai Police issued an appeal to citizens, urging individuals facing emergencies or those who notice someone in acute distress to seek immediate help. The department advised the public to contact the police and emergency services by dialing 112 for prompt assistance.
