In an unusual dry spell during the monsoon season, Mumbai recorded zero rainfall across the city and its suburbs, with the Santacruz observatory registering 27.4 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) confirmed that no measurable precipitation fell over the 24-hour period between 8 am on July 12 and 8 am on July 13, 2026.

According to the IMD, the rainfall recorded in the city, the eastern suburbs, and the western suburbs all stood at exactly 0 mm. This dry spell comes during a period when the city typically expects active monsoon conditions.

In its weather forecast issued at 8 am on Monday, July 13, the IMD indicated that Mumbai is expected to witness a partly cloudy sky across the city and its suburbs. The forecast also noted a possibility of one or two spells of light rain, but only at isolated locations.

Temperature forecasts from the IMD suggest warm conditions will continue. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 33 degrees Celsius over the next 24 hours. The minimum temperature is likely to remain near 27 degrees Celsius.

The Santacruz observatory, which serves as a weather monitoring station for the region, registered a temperature of 27.4 degrees Celsius during the dry 24-hour window.
