Nashik Police Bust Burglary Gang Targeting 32 Flats, Recover Rs 17 Lakh in Valuables

Nashik Police on Monday busted a gang allegedly involved in a series of burglaries targeting flats and bungalows across the city, arresting four suspects and recovering stolen property and valuables worth approximately Rs 17 lakh.

The enforcement action followed an escalation in residential break-ins where thieves forced open the locks of houses and apartments to steal valuables. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Kiran Kumar Chavan stated that investigative teams from Nashik Crime Branch Unit 3 and the Gangapur Division had been pursuing the gang for nearly three months following multiple complaints.

According to police officials, the gang was linked to break-ins at approximately 32 flats across Nashik. The suspects allegedly took deliberate measures to evade law enforcement, including operating without mobile communication while committing the crimes.

Investigators revealed that the accused routinely switched off their mobile phones whenever they entered the city to prevent digital tracking. Additionally, the gang allegedly utilized vehicles fitted with duplicate number plates to disguise their movements while surveying and targeting residential neighborhoods.

Despite these precautions, law enforcement authorities tracked down and apprehended the four accused through technical surveillance operations.

Police further noted that the gang allegedly melted down stolen gold items with the assistance of associates before selling the precious metal. Investigators suspect the accused maintained an organized network of contacts to facilitate the disposal and liquidation of stolen property.
