Navi Mumbai Airport Welcomes First Dedicated International Cargo Flight

Navi Mumbai International Airport reached a new operational milestone on Sunday after receiving its first dedicated international freighter service, operated by Hong Kong Air Cargo from Hong Kong.

The airline will operate three weekly flights connecting Hong Kong and Navi Mumbai. According to airport authorities, the service will be operated using an Airbus A330-200F freighter capable of transporting around 60 tonnes of import and export shipments per trip.

The launch comes as the airport prepares for a significant expansion in its logistics network, with 13 additional freighter services scheduled to commence operations soon.

International operations at Navi Mumbai International Airport have been steadily expanding over recent weeks. The airport launched its first international passenger service to Abu Dhabi on July 15. This was followed on August 1 by an IndiGo Cargo freighter service to Sharjah, which carried 20 tonnes of goods.

Cargo operators at the facility have already secured approvals or submitted flight plans to connect Navi Mumbai with a wider range of global commercial hubs. The scheduled and proposed destinations include Chengdu, Bangkok, Taipei, Singapore, Frankfurt, Dubai, Amsterdam, Paris, and Riyadh.
