Navi Mumbai Keeps Property Tax Counters Open On Holidays To Avoid Late Fee

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has announced that its property tax cash collection counters at the NMMC headquarters, all eight ward offices, and other tax collection centres across Navi Mumbai will remain open on weekends and public holidays until June 30. The civic body introduced this special facility to help local property owners clear their dues and avoid a two percent late payment charge that goes into effect on July 1.
The tax collection counters will operate from 10 am to 3 pm daily. This schedule specifically includes the public holiday on June 26 for Muharram, as well as the weekend holidays on June 27 and June 28, ensuring taxpayers have offline options to submit their payments before the deadline. On regular working days, the tax counters will also function during these same hours of 10 am to 3 pm.
In addition to the physical counters at the ward offices, the NMMC has provided several digital payment channels for property owners who prefer online transactions. Citizens can pay their taxes online through the official NMMC website, the My NMMC – Majhi Navi Mumbai mobile application, or a dedicated WhatsApp chatbot at 8291920504. Other digital options include QR code scanning on tax bills, UPI applications, net banking, debit and credit cards, RTGS, and NEFT.
NMMC Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde appealed to all property owners in the city to complete their payments before the June 30 deadline. He emphasized that timely tax payment is a civic responsibility that directly contributes to development works across Navi Mumbai. Shinde also reminded citizens that outstanding property taxes will attract a two percent late fee starting July 1.
The civic body has urged all local property owners to take advantage of these extended working days and diverse payment methods to avoid the additional financial burden of the late fee.
