Navi Mumbai Traffic Police Closed Sector 18 APMC Road For 37 Hours

The Navi Mumbai Traffic Police temporarily closed a stretch of an internal road in Sector 18, APMC, Navi Mumbai, for 37 hours to facilitate heavy-duty crane operations for a private construction project. The traffic restriction was in effect from 9:00 am on July 5 until 10:00 pm on July 6.

The temporary road closure was implemented to enable Akshar Enterprise LLP & Developers to safely position a heavy-duty crane. The developer utilized the crane to lift construction materials at its ongoing project site, which is located on Plot Nos. 45/6 and 45/5 in Sector 18.

During the 37-hour restriction period, the affected road stretch was closed to all regular vehicular traffic. The Navi Mumbai Traffic Police kept the road open only for pedestrians and vehicles that were directly associated with the construction project.

The decision to shut the road was finalized after the APMC Traffic Branch inspected the site and assessed how the crane operations would impact local traffic movement. Officials determined that the closure would have a minimal impact on local commuters.

In the official traffic notification, Dr. Rahul Khade, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Navi Mumbai, explained that the affected stretch was an internal road that experiences comparatively low traffic volume. He added that since an alternative internal route was available adjacent to the construction work site, the temporary closure was not expected to cause any major inconvenience to motorists.

The traffic police issued the order under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. This legislation empowers local traffic authorities to regulate vehicular movement in the interest of public safety and general traffic management during major operations like crane installations.

During the closure, the traffic police advised motorists to use alternative internal roads within Sector 18, APMC, as the designated diversion routes. Drivers were also instructed to follow the directions of traffic police personnel on duty.
