Navi Mumbai's Mauli Foundation Distributes Medical Kits to Pandharpur Pilgrims

During the Ashadhi Wari 2026 pilgrimage, the Navi Mumbai-based Mauli Foundation distributed medical kits, raincoats, and essential food items to thousands of Warkari pilgrims along the route to Pandharpur. The distribution drive, which is now in its sixth consecutive year, was organized to help ease the physical hardships faced by the lakhs of devotees who undertake the long journey on foot to seek the blessings of Lord Vitthal and Goddess Rukmini.

The Pandharpur Wari is recognized as one of Maharashtra's most revered religious traditions. Every year, lakhs of devotees walk long distances to reach the temple town of Pandharpur. Recognizing the intense physical challenges that these pilgrims encounter during their multi-day journey, the Navi Mumbai organization stepped forward to provide critical material and medical assistance.

Thousands of Warkaris received specialized medical kits designed to help them manage common health issues that arise during the long walk. With the support of various donors and well-wishers, the foundation was able to expand its inventory of distributed items this year.

In addition to the medical kits, the volunteers distributed raincoats to protect the walking pilgrims from the seasonal rains. The distribution also included drinking water, biscuits, Haldiram's fasting mixture (upvas chivda), tulsi malas, and copies of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita.

The initiative also focused on environmental hygiene along the pilgrimage path. Volunteers from the organization undertook dedicated cleanliness drives at several service locations, ensuring that the areas where relief materials were distributed remained clean and that hygiene was promoted along the route.

"Our objective is not merely to distribute essential items but to serve with compassion and strengthen the spirit of community. The smiles and blessings of the Warkaris are the greatest reward for us," the Mauli Foundation said in an official statement.

Following the positive response from both the devotees and local donors, the foundation has announced plans to expand its services even further during next year's Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage.
