Neha Nirmal Saves 14 Lives Before Trees Collapse Onto Mahalaxmi Houses

On the morning of Monday, July 6, 2026, a 20-year-old local resident named Neha Nirmal saved 14 lives by initiating a swift evacuation just moments before three intertwined trees collapsed onto four houses in Mahalaxmi, Mumbai. Nirmal's quick actions prevented any casualties, though the collapse caused extensive property damage to the homes.
The incident unfolded when Nirmal noticed a huge peepal tree outside her Mahalaxmi home swaying at an unusually fast pace. Sensing immediate danger from the swaying tree, she alerted and evacuated her neighbors, including her own family, before the trees came crashing down.
In total, three trees that were entangled with each other collapsed onto four residential structures. Thanks to the timely evacuation, all 14 residents escaped unharmed, resulting in zero injuries or fatalities.
Following the collapse, fire department personnel arrived at the scene to manage the aftermath. The team carried out tree-cutting and clearance operations to remove the debris from the damaged houses.
